It all started with a simple observation. While visiting Luke Air Force Base, our CEO and Co-Founder noticed the Honor Guard training outside in the sweltering summer heat. When he asked why, he found out that these dedicated service members, who volunteer their time to perform funeral services for veterans, were operating out of a building with no air conditioning.
Determined to support the service members in our community, IDM teamed up with Colliers Engineering, Deutsch, and Fighter Country Foundation to fully fund and build a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. The 8,000-square-foot space will include offices, locker rooms, a kitchen and lounge area, and a large open training space. IDM is proud to donate project management services and additional funding, while Deutsch and Colliers have contributed their design expertise pro bono. Many of IDM’s subcontractors have also stepped up, generously providing materials and labor.
The project cost has been reduced significantly thanks to donations, with Fighter Country Foundation covering the remainder through fundraising efforts. This marks IDM Cares’ first ground-up build on base, and we anticipate this project breaking ground in late April 2025, pending final electrical and design approvals.
