Founded in 1993, IDM is honored to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year.
Since 1993, IDM Companies has been investing, developing, and building multifamily and industrial real estate. What started as a business partnership to build one project has grown into the flourishing, vertically integrated real estate company that we are today. At IDM, we are honored to have established ourselves as one of the best in the industry, and to have been recognized as such by many project level awards in both regions and most recently by being named a Top Workplace in 2023 nationally.
In 2023, as we celebrate 30 years of amazing growth, stability, and steady progress, we reflect to where it all started: In the Pacific Northwest, with our very first project, Avalon Park. Avalon Park was completed in 1997 and features 72 units, providing 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom floor plans to meet our residents’ needs. This garden-style apartment community launched IDM Companies into the market and the company has since been expanding steadily to provide housing across growing markets in three states: Washington, Oregon and—most recently—Arizona.
IDM has continued to develop garden-style communities, taken on urban-midrise apartments in Portland, developed commercial real estate projects, been a key partner in developing master-planned communities in Vancouver, launched a second corporate office in Scottsdale, unveiled our new brand of industrial business parks, and—through it all—have stayed true to our mission: “To create a humble, multi-generational legacy of stewardship, quality, integrity, and accountability.”
What started as a duo has grown into nearly 250 employees, each of whom work harder than ever to bring their best self to work every day to help IDM achieve its goal of “Always Building Better.”
